Abzorb, the award-winning innovative telecoms solutions supplier, has announced a formal partnership with Commsworld, Scotland’s largest independent voice and data solutions provider. By working closely together, the two companies aim to build on their current success and expand their organisations by exploring new markets and new business opportunities.
Because of the recession, many big telecoms companies have been reducing their service levels. Commsworld had already started to move into new sectors and saw that there was a gap in the market – as well as an opportunity to increase its presence in its existing sectors.
Richard Nicol, Chief Executive Officer of Commsworld, explains: “We decided to rationalise our suppliers. We’ve grown by 24% last year and 15% this year and we aim to keep expanding over the next few years. One key aspect is our mobile operations, so we looked at many different suppliers. We took time to make sure that whoever we chose was right for us, as we want a long term relationship with them.”
Commsworld chose Abzorb as its new partner in this venture. Abzorb already works closely with leading vendors such as Vodafone and Research In Motion (RIM). Commsworld was particularly interested in working with a supplier that had links with Vodafone.
Richard Nicol continues: “We chose Abzorb because we were very impressed with their service levels, their hands-on knowledge and their experience in the mobile sector. We felt that we could work closely with them in the mobile space, especially as they have a strong understanding of Vodafone’s products. We’ve worked with Abzorb’s Business Development Director, Mark Riddell, for many years and he has never let us down.”
Commsworld regards service standards and quality as being extremely important. It was therefore impressed to learn that Abzorb has set up its own Training Academy, which delivers similar training to that provided by Vodafone to its sales personnel. The programme includes induction into Vodafone, its networks, tariffs, mobiles and broadband, as well as training on BlackBerry solutions. Abzorb recently held two days of training in Edinburgh, for 21 people from ten partners. One of the days was a Training Academy held at Commsworld’s premises, exclusively for the company’s personnel.
Mike Walsh, Abzorb’s Managing Director, says: “We are delighted to have formed this partnership with such a progressive and dynamic company as Commsworld. We share similar ideals to them: excellence in solutions, service and support. We look forward to a highly productive relationship that will bring many benefits to both companies.”
