Dixons Allerton Academy

Dixons Allerton Academy in Bradford has moved to a new £28m building and Abzorb led the installation of the school’s new network infrastructure.

Almost two thousand pupils, aged between three and 19, are based at the site and our Network Services Division were on site for 25 weeks installing over 67km of space saving, high density Cat 6 network cable throughout the building.

The state-of-the-art building was designed by architect BDP and built by Wates Construction. Abzorb was awarded the contract to supply and install the cabling system across the 14.5 square metre development by T Clarke (Leeds).

Work began early in 2013 with a first fix project plan, completed ahead of schedule, with a further three months on site to install 12 network cabinets, 14 backbone fibre optic cables and terminate 1,475 network points.

Abzorb has now been fast-tracked on the Wates Construction preferred supplier list and we are looking at various projects with them.

Richard Atkins, Senior Project Engineer with T Clarke (Leeds):

“The installation has been carried out to an extremely high standard. Abzorb engineers have at all times conducted themselves in a professional manner and all installation targets have been met.”
