Case Study
Transforming Connectivity for Triton Construction with a Managed 5G Infrastructure & Robust On-Site Network.
Triton Construction operate across multiple sites nationwide & rely heavily on mobile connectivity to support day-to-day operations. Their teams require consistent access to project management software, digital drawings, cloud storage, email & essential health & safety documentation.
Their previous setup consisted of standard 3G/4G MiFi units and USB dongles which were no longer fit for purpose. Speeds were inconsistent, devices were unstable and the limitations of consumer-grade hardware were directly impacting productivity.
Opportunities for improvement
Triton faced a number of critical operational issues caused by unreliable and inconsistent connectivity.
- Network Performance Challenges
MiFi and dongle devices provided fluctuating speeds, with frequent dropouts, especially during peak times or on rural construction sites. - Slow Data Transfer
Large CAD files, videos and site photos were slow to upload and download, causing delays in communication and project progression. - Limited Device Capacity
MiFi devices were not designed for multi-user environments. When several engineers connected at once, performance significantly deteriorated. - Security Risks
Consumer-grade mobile hotspots lacked enterprise-level security features, leaving corporate data and applications vulnerable.

The Solution
Abzorb worked closely with Triton Construction to design a bespoke connectivity solution tailored to the demands of an active construction environment.
Following an on-site assessment and survey, we deployed a robust 5G outdoor solution, complemented by enterprise-grade switching, managed Wi-Fi and multiple network SIM cards to provide and increase resiliency.
Key Components Implemented
- Teltonika Outdoor 5G Router
Built for challenging outdoor environments, delivering high performance & stable 5G connectivity. - Cambium Managed Wi-Fi Access Points
Deliver high-performance, secure wireless coverage for all staff, devices, and contractors. - Cambium Managed Switch
Ensures dependable distribution of connectivity with VLAN capability, QoS controls, and full remote management. - Remote Monitoring & Management
Allows Abzorb to proactively support Triton through ongoing remote diagnostics, firmware updates, device changes, and performance optimisation.

benefits
Triton Construction now benefit from a bespoke multi-vendor solution with access to the best coverage, providing seamless connectivity.
- High-speed, stable 4G/5G connectivity
The site now receives consistently strong 4G/5G speeds, eliminating dropouts and reliability issues previously caused by MiFi units and dongles. - Significant productivity gains
Teams can now upload drawings, access cloud systems, collaborate digitally and conduct video calls without interruption - saving time and improving workflow. - Supports multiple users & devices
The new infrastructure comfortably supports multiple devices simultaneously with no loss of speed or performance, removing the need for additional MiFi devices or data dongles. - Future-proof, scalable connectivity
The solution is now fully scalable, allowing Triton to expand coverage by adding additional access points or relocating equipment to new sites as projects progress.
The Future
Triton’s new managed 4G/5G solution enables them to stay aligned with project timelines and avoid delays caused by poor or unstable connectivity.
Following the success of the initial deployment, Triton have now rolled this solution out across all active construction sites and will continue to use this standard for all future projects.

This solution has completely transformed how we work on-site.
The new 5G deployment represents a significant upgrade compared to the previous MiFi units.
Our teams can finally work efficiently without worrying about connectivity issues caused by inconsistent internet devices.
